Tech meets tradition: Cameras

Ever brought your camera to an event or wedding?
Maybe its just my luck, but one of the following always seems to happen:
  1. My camera runs out of battery
  2. My Memory card is filled up before the end of the night
Solution: An upload station at the event or wedding.

What you will need:
  • A laptop - will be the device that will import all the photos and help charge the cameras
  • A multi-card reader - to upload photos from memory cards
  • A table near an outlet
  • A power bar
A few other things you may want, but are not necessary:
  • Someone tech savvy
  • An external hard-drive
You, yourself may not own all these gadgets, but ask around and your friends and family are sure to have these items.

To put all this together set-up a table next to an outlet and hook-up the laptop and power bar into the outlet. The multi-card reader and external hard-drive will hook-up to the laptop. The great thing about the external hard-drive is that if the laptop is not yours you don't have to worry about filling up someone's laptop with the photos and having them send it to you. You can load the photos straight to the external hard-drive and take them home with you that night. You may even want someone tech savvy to watch over the station to help those who are not sure what to do.

This is convenient for you and your guests! This helps them to keep taking photos all night and you don't have to wait for your guests to email you the photos later on. Don't let technology slow down your day. It can be a great help! At the end of the night You can even use the photos in a slideshow for all to see.
