Quick and Easy meals when getting ready for the big day

One of the things as a Wedding Planner that I like to make sure of, is that my clients EAT before the festivities of the day begin.
I know firsthand how the excitement can bring on nervousness, and the adrenaline kicks in, but it is important to still eat in order to get you nutrients and energy you need for such a long day!
I myself am sometimes guilty of this one too-I get so excited for a wedding, and get to running around, that I completely forget about breakfast until I start feeling the pain.
So I thought I'd pass along some quick easy breakfast and light snacking ideas to help keep your energy going!

If you like breakfast sandwiches, but don't want the extra calories associated with them-try this:
-1 whole wheat English muffin
-2 egg whites
- 1/2 cup of finely chopped veggies (I usually use red and green peppers and red onion)

Throw the veggies in with egg whites. Cook in a non-stick frying pan and make into a sandwich with English muffin. You can even add low fat turkey bacon, or slices of tomato and top with low fat cheese!

--------------------------------------------

If you are a bit of a lighter eater, you might try this one:

-1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese, OR low fat yogurt, and top it with some slice fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, banana or melon.
Sprinkle some all bran cereal or granola on top and presto!

---------------------------------------------

I love smoothies! Especially in the morning while getting ready mostly because I blend in so many good things, and I can take it with me. Smoothies also make me feel like I am having a dessert too! If you are a smoothie junkie like me than you might want to try:

-1/2 cup of vanilla soy OR low fat yogurt
-1/2 cup to a full cup of fruit of any sort-Mix it up!! Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, banana, peach, pear, pineapple, melon-you name it!
-1/2 cup of ice
-half cup of water

Blend and sip! These are also a great for hot summer morning too.

----------------------------------------------
If you are not getting ready until later on in the morning or early afternoon, try a wrap!
grill up some veggies, and chicken, and top with some salsa and lowfat cheese!

OR

Build your own salad! Make a variety of fresh fruits and veggies available, pecans, almonds, or walnuts, raisins or craisins, and a few different kinds of dressing. Everyone can help themsleves and build their own! You can even serve alongside some grilled chicken or salmon!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eat your veggies! As most of our mother's told us growing up, a veggie tray is the perfect way to ensure we are getting our veggies in, and gives everyone something to snack on while getting ready (just watch that dip near the dresses!)

To load up on some extra protein, add in some tuna, grilled chicken, or some slices of turkey.

Don't forget to have other provisions on hand-especially during the photo shoot. Granola bars, fresh fruit like apples and bananas or baby carrots, and celery sticks are healthy and convenient to carry along in a small knapsack
Carrying water is also a must-not only does it keep you cool and keep you from getting dehydrated, but it will also help your skin to look refreshed!
Please please please make sure you eat that day and fit it into your schedule if you have to. Not only will this give you the energy you need to keep up with the day, (you don't want to have a sugar crash or feel sluggish on your day!) In some cases, it can also help you from fainting!

All the best on your day!
