How to WOW your guests

"I want to WOW my guests at my wedding!"

"But how?" (usually follows this statement)
The song "Let's give them something to talk about" always comes to mind. Your guests who attend your wedding are having an experience-so give them one! After the "I Do's" are said and done you can still keep the guests wanting more!

Start by making your wedding personal-not "personalized". By that I mean making it about you-not just taking things and stamping them with your name on it. Some couples do this by planning a surprise for each other on their day-not only does it catch your other half off guard, but it also catches your entire audience off guard and makes your day that much more memorable! We've seen the choreographed wedding party dances, or a groom who has written a song for his new wife, or a slideshow for your parents. Think about how you can surprise each other and your guests. This also makes the room feel emotionally charged, and like they are participants in your day-show them the spark that you share between the two of you!

Make it different. Over the last few years we've seen tradition challenged. We have seen cakes go to cupcakes, centerpieces in all shapes and sizes, and tons of new ways to display seating charts and seating cards. A "wow factor" can be made by simply taking something old and making it new and different, this gives your guests "something to talk about" and remember about your day.

Choose ONE aspect of your decor as the "WOW" factor. Too many can make it hard to remember -but one will make a statement all on it's own. Do a stunning ceiling treatment, or fancy dance floor, try different lighting, or go extreme with your centerpieces.

Entertainment for your guests is also key-remember they are there to share an experience-in most cases the only things they will remember at the end of the evening is the entertainment, and the food. (Sorry they aren't going to remember the little things like how the napkin was folded like a rose-although it is a nice detail.)
Hire some unexpected entertainment for them, dancers, aerialists, or live musicians!
One resource that is overlooked, is your serving staff: have them serve your guests in a unique way. I love weddings where the serving staff is in costume to carry out the theme of the day! Have fun with this one!

What are some of your thoughts on "WOW"-ing your guests for your day? I'd love to hear them!
Have a great day!
